In October of 1998, I started The Teacher List. It didn’t start with that name – it was just a habit I formed, sending interesting sites to teaching friends. At its peak, there were over 4500 members and I ended collecting over 3800 posts. I have found it difficult to maintain the site, not because of a lack of sites nor even a lack of time to keep things going. Rather, I sum it up as, “Well, people don’t need me to Google for them anymore.” As our society and profession have evolved, we’re all experts in finding, vetting and using online tools in our practice. So, it’s time to wrap things up. I’ll leave the site up until the next domain renewal and then it’ll disappear.
I have met so many people, made many friends and learned so much over the last 21 years of doing this project – I don’t even know how to thank all of you for your interest and support. There are still three original members. Two of whom, are my pals, Wayne and Des – mentors and friends for my entire career, these guys still keep me going. The third, and most important, is Mrs. Teacher List – Shari – who is always at my side cheering me on.
